Dr. Colleen Anne Dell PhD
ProfessorDr. Colleen Anne Dell is Professor and Centennial Enhancement Chair in One Health and Wellness at the University of Saskatchewan in the Department of Sociology and School of Public Health. She is also a Senior Research Associate with the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction. Her research is grounded in an empowering, community-based, patient-oriented, and participatory approach. It focuses on healing from addictions and mental health, with attention to Indigenous populations and animal assisted interventions. Her current projects include working with federal prisoners, university students, seniors, addictions clients, war veterans and youth. Underlying her work is a commitment to bringing together different ways of knowing and the production of unique research-informed knowledge mobilization products, including music videos and paintings. She has worked extensively at the community and national levels, including with the Elizabeth Fry Society and the Senate of Canada. In 2017, Colleen was named to the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem.
