Dr. Chad Nilson, Faculty Member, Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science and Justice Studies

Dr. Chad Nilson is Community‐Engaged Scholar at the University of Saskatchewan’s Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science and Justice Studies. Dr. Nilson is one of Canada’s leading experts on community safety and well‐being. His contribuƟons from both a measurement and practitioner perspective have made an impact in First Nation and non‐Aboriginal communiƟes across the country.

 

Ava Bear, Health Director, Muskoday Community Health Centre

Ava Bear holds a Bachelor of Social Work Degree and is the Director of Health at the Muskoday First Nation Community Health Centre. Ava is a co‐chair for the Muskoday Intervention Circle—an advancement to the original Hub Model, where ongoing multi‐sector coordinated support is offered to clients upon consent. In that role, she has driven change toward improved human service delivery.

Margaret Bear, Chief, Ochapowace Nation 

Okimaw Iskwew (Chief Woman) Margaret Bear was elected leader of Ochapowace Nation in 2014. Since then, she has led innovative changes in social development, jusƟce, and well‐being. One of her most recent nation‐building activities has been leading and supporting implementation of the Ochapowace Intervention Circle—a multi‐sector, collaborative risk‐driven intervention and ongoing support initiative.

Jody Culbert, Saskatoon Police Service

Cst. Jody Culbert joined the Saskatoon Police Service in 2005. In 2014, she was selected to serve as the agency’s first Hub representative. Since then, she has collaborated with multiple human service sectors to advance risk detection and systemic issue identification in Saskatoon. Jody has recently become Chair of the Saskatoon Hub Table, and conƟnues to be a strong advocate for the Hub Model.
