Located in the prairies at the University of Saskatchewan, we conduct interdisciplinary research representing a gateway to evidence-based information on forensic, mental health, correctional, and justice issues. The research done in the Centre around risk assessment is internationally recognized.

Upcoming Events

Violence & Aggression Symposium 2026

The Biennial Symposium on Violence & Aggression has been a collaborative effort of Correctional Service Canada, the University of Saskatchewan, and other government, public, and academic contributors since 1986. Targeted to frontline workers, as well as clinicians and other professionals and administrators in criminal justice and forensic mental health, the Symposium translates research and theory into practice and provides an opportunity to highlight excellence and innovation within a variety of correctional and criminal justice environments.

Public Forum 2026 & Strategic Plan Launch

The Public Forum will commence with the official launch of the CFBSJS Strategic Plan 2026–29, followed by two keynote sessions on homelessness and inadequate housing in Saskatoon.

This event will be perfect for university students, staff, and faculty; federal and provincial government representatives; community-based organizations; and community members!
