Collaborative Analytics for Safer Communities

April 2017

The Centre co-sponsored a two-day workshop May 11-12, 2017 in North Vancouver with Capilano University, Saskatchewan Police Predictive Analytics Laboratory, Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice, and ICURS-Computational Criminology and Predictive Policing. The workshop brought together university faculty and students interested in the field of analytical criminology with delegates and experts from organizations responsible for community safety, including Police, RCMP, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Social Services, and others. The objective was to share knowledge and discuss the newly emerging data analytics tools that will help criminal justice organizations with more efficient decision-making and prevention/treatment strategies in order to create safer and (mentally) healthier communities. For more information, visit Collaborative Analytics for Safer Communities 2017. A report on the workshop is currently being drafted and will be posted here: Report on Collaborative Analytics for Safer Communities 2017.
