Dr. Brenda Mishak PhD Assistant Professor
Dr. Brenda Mishak is an assistant professor, academic programming with the College of Nursing at the Prince Albert Campus. She is a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner with an active practice with Corrections Canada, Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert. Given that she is in an academic programming stream her focus is on teaching. She is very interested in developing her research and scholarship in the areas of corrections nursing. She is actively working towards establishing herself in the areas of mental health, forensic, the nurse practitioner role, and interdisciplinary teams. She has received a grant to start her program of research. The grant was received to complete a scoping review of the Nurse Practitioner role and scope of practice in correctional systems. She is a member of the Custody and Caring international conference planning committee and looks forward to creating connections to further advance the studies in the ever-growing field of forensic science.
